So awhile back I started this little project…I was in one of my crafty little moods and wanted to combine art with missions work. The ideas were endless! After much brainstorming I was given a great idea by a dear friend. Actually, she didn’t really give it to me as much as I borrowed the idea (with her permission) and switched it up a bit. So with that I started away on my art project.
Prep and work: First things first…I needed a globe. Not just any globe, but one with a sweet base and I found the perfect one at my local goodwill (fantastic little place). Next I needed paint, but not just any paint…chalkboard paint. Finally, I needed ribbon. My equator had a little malfunction and had to be replaced. I finally had all the fixins’ for my project so away I went. After much time spent painting, cutting, and ironing I finished it……So you’re wondering what exactly did I finish..I finished my prayer request board (well really a world..not board) 🙂
I wanted a reminder of what/who I need to pray for this summer. Let my prayers not just be about preparing me or calming my frantic heart, but about all those involved…everyone from the missionaries there, locals, pilots, drivers, loved ones back home, so on and so forth. This shall be my reminder..and with time this list will change and when it does so will the writing on the world.
“Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus” (Philippians 4:6-7)
